UPDATE! Endowment Prizes and Final Challenges!
NEW! SIZE PRIZES - All nonprofits in the print guide have been divided into small, medium and large by yearly operating budget. There will be two winners from each size in two areas:
- Amount of Over All Dollars Raised (Small, Medium Large)
- Amount of Over All Unique Donors (Small, Medium Large)
The top two in each size group of small, medium and large will win a $5000 endowment in each category. Nonprofits can win a $5000 prize in both categories
- For example, small nonprofit A raised the most money AND had the most unique donors. They will win in both categories and will get a $10,000 endowment.
- Medium Nonprofit B had the second most money raised. They will win a $5,000 endowment.
If you are a winner and already have an endowment at Blue Grass Community Foundation, the prize will be added to your fund. Note that an endowment has to have at least $10,000 to receive a yearly payout. Those winning a $5000 endowment and having no other fund monies at BGCF will have their prize money pooled into a fund with others so they can receive a pro-rated payment until organization grows its fund to at least $10,000.
NEW! FINISH LINE FLASH ENDOWMENT CHALLENGE!
Prize: $30,000 total prizes (6 winners)

Ends: December 31st, 2015 at 11:59:59 PM EST
The Finish Line Flash Endowment Challenge is sponsored by Blue Grass Community Foundation and the Co-Challengers Endowment Pool. The Challenge offers $30,000 in Endowment Fund grants to nonprofits featured in the GoodGiving Guide Challenge print guide. The first 6 nonprofits to raise $10,000 will win a $5000 endowment that will be added to its current BGCF Endowment Fund or be put into a fund pool with others so the nonprofit can receive a prorated payout until the nonprofit grows the fund to at least $10,000. Prizes will be announced and awarded post event.
All nonprofits in the print guide are eligible, but must raise an ADDITIONAL $10,000 starting at 9:00 AM - Dollars raised prior to 9:00 AM on December 28th do not count as part of Flash Challenge!
NEW! GOOD FOODS LOVES GOOD GIVING SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST
Start/End: December 22nd, 2015 - 9 AM – 4 PM EST.
Prize: Unrestricted Good Foods Coop gift cards - 1st place $250, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $100
What: Social Media Photo Contest (no videos). Submit a photo via social media. The theme for your post should be Good Foods loves GoodGiving. Find creative ways to incorporate Good Foods logo or the words “Good Foods loves GoodGiving” into your post! Photos will be judged by Good Foods Coop staff. Prizes will be announced and awarded post event.
The “Musts”: An organization must do the following to qualify their social post image: must mention bggives.org in the social post, must tag Good Foods Coop and Blue Grass Community Foundation, must use hashtags: #lovelocalcoop #goodgivingguide
Co-Challengers Endowment Pool
The 100 nonprofits featured in the Guide in the 2015 Challenge will have the opportunity to compete for $5,000 endowment prizes made possible by Blue Grass Community Foundation and supportive donors. Endowment prizes will establish or add to a Nonprofit Endowment Fund at BGCF for the benefit of each qualifying nonprofit. Endowment prizes will be awarded to winners at the end of the Challenge in $5,000 increments. Awards will be based on how well nonprofits perform, with a focus on dollars raised and number of donors.
Clark County Challenge – For Clark County Nonprofits
November 13 (9 a.m.) through December 31 (11:59 p.m.)
The Clark County Challenge begins at 9 a.m. on November 13 for Clark County nonprofits and lasts until the match pool has been exhausted.
Clark County Community Foundation, a component fund of Blue Grass Community Foundation, will award matching grants to Clark County nonprofits in this year’s Challenge — dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 per nonprofit.
Lottie Elis Match Challenge – For Boyle County Nonprofits
November 13 (9 a.m.) through December 31 (11:59 p.m.)
The Lottie Ellis Match Challenge begins at 9 a.m. on November 13 for Boyle County nonprofits and lasts until the match pool has been exhausted.
The Lottie Ellis Match Challenge will provide $10,000 in matching challenge grants for nonprofits participating in the GoodGiving Challenge located in Boyle County - $0.50 for every dollar raised up to $1,000 per donor, until the $10,000 pool is exhausted.
This means a donor’s $50 contribution earns a $25 Lottie Ellis match, which equals $75 for the nonprofit.
Bling for a Cause
When: December 12, 2015 9am-5pm
Where: Joe Rosenberg Jewelers, 163 E. Main St. Lexington, KY
What: Anyone who makes a purchase at Joe Rosenberg Jewelers on December 12, 2015 can choose from the top 100 nonprofits in this Guide and Joe Rosenberg will donate all proceeds from the purchase to the nonprofit of the buyer’s choice up to $100,000.
Blue Grass Community Foundation can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. Blue Grass Community Foundation reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
